I've just recieved an email from Namecheap.com regarding a price increase as of Sunday.

The new prices are as follows:

.com $8.88 => $9.29 per year
.net $8.88 => $9.29 per year
.org $8.88 => $9.29 per year
.info $8.88 => $9.29 per year
.biz $8.88 => $9.29 per year

This will apply to renewals, transfers and new registrations - so Namecheap customers, get in before Sunday to get the $8.88 prices :)

I now personally use Domainsite.com for about half of my domains now, their registrations still currently start at $6.99…

    I don't really have a problem with their price increase- I have about 20 domains with them and I don't have any plans to move… That just seems like a major headache over $1 or so.

    Prices rise. So it goes. And like you said the email explained the reason for the price increase (registries raising their fees).

    I got an email announcing an increase in one of my hosting plans too. Seems backwards from what you usually see with online things. Normally, prices go down.
    I would rather see a small increase instead of poor performance.
    Registerfly anyone?

    eNom's prices are up by 50c a domain so I used all the money I had in my account and renewed 8 domains I knew I'd be keeping. $4 saved, better than nothing ;) With the current exchange rate I'm sure it'll be unnoticeable in a month or so!

    Searching for a place to register a single .com domain, I came across 1and1.co.uk offering first year free and second year $8.99. Do any of you have experience of 1and1?
