Million Euro Wiki
If you read any number of blogs, you'll have read about the latest website to come from John Cow (not Chow). It's called "Million Euro Wiki" (MEW) and is a re-presentation of milliondollarwiki.com
I won't go into why's and wherefores of whether Million Euro Wiki will (or will not) be a success - that's been done to death on other sites (read more).
So, I bought a page on the Wiki - I don't really know why I did, other than the fact that it was only $90, and I can use the page to divert some traffic to where-ever I want.
If and when things take off a MEW page might be more valuable than it is now - hence command a higher price.
With the number of backlinks that MEW already has, I can envisage the main page going straight to PR5, perhaps 6. And internal pages will obviously feed off that…
So, maybe you would like to purchase a page?
Well, they are $100. Unless you can find a voucher to knock $10 off.
Here's my offer to you
Use the voucher code "osworld" (without quotes) when you buy a page, and you will get $10 off the price, applied immediately. I then get a $30 commission after a short while. I will pass on this commission to you, just as soon as I receive it! So, you get a MEW page for the cheapest possible price of $60…
Now, I am unsure when payouts are made, hence I am unsure when I can pay you - let's call this a "gentlemans agreement", eh? In addition I will need to check that your name appears on my list of buyers!
If your name ain't down, you ain't coming in.
Why am I doing this?
Well, I have no efficacy data to show whether or not a MEW page has enough value to warrant spending cash on. I've only had a page for 1 day, and it has seen 30 or so views.
Thus, I don't want to earn cash from you guys, as I have not been able to give a positive review.
Therefore I'll pass on my commissions to those who use the osworld voucher and appear in the list of buyers under that code. Fair enough?
And you have a chance to win an iPod
Every 25 pages that are sold, a name is drawn by randon to win an iPod, here's the spiel;
For every 25 pages sold, we will select one of the page-owners and give them a brand new 16GB iPod touch worth $400!
Can't be bad, eh?

I wouldn't bank on it for any PR value. It's too easy for Google to simply devalue any that may potentially be passed just as Matt Cutts suggested about MillionDollarHomePage.com.

It will be interesting to see what, if any, benefits this brings you, but I can't say I'll be holding my breath… How old is the site? The main page is shown as only having ~5200 visits… (http://millioneurowiki.com/Special:Popularpages)

Doesn't really matter, it was only $90. How interesting would it be to take a wiki and use it to produce a "user submitted" niche website…

I don't comment on here much Burt, but I must say I'm surprised that you bought into the hype on this one, I myself can't see it bringing much value.
Fair play for offering the $30 back to anyone who buys through your link though.

You write against following the herd and yet you give money to a Cow along with the rest of the herd!

There is method in my madness. Don't worry about that

I don`t know about you guys but it seems to be getting legs to me … at the end of the day 100 bucks isn`t that much at all to secure a word or phrase that you can monetise. Unlike the MDW at least the Million Euro Wiki is a global site rather then being centered around the US only. I`m planning on buying a few pages and will watch this one ride out.
