oscbooks or oscBIKEs ?
As I am sure that all regular readers of this blog are aware, my main passion is riding my pushbike. I've progressed from short little 3 mile loops to 80 or more miles in a single ride…
I have a very nice bike which I purchased some time back. This year I was intending to do the LeJog (Lands End to John O Groats), but this was impossible due to a couple of factors;
- the death of a close family member
- the awful weather that we had in the UK
So, I decided to put the whole thing off until next Summer. In the meantime, I've been deciding to upgrade my gear and bike in readiness for the 14 day journey…
What does this post have to do with "making money online"?
Well, what I do is use some of my online earnings to fund the equipment that I purchase!
Just the other day I received $101 (about £50) from my oscbooks affiliation, and spent out £40 on a 2nd hand (but excellent quality) set of Carradice Panniers.
This is what I do each time I receive an oscbooks payout - buy something cool for my bike.
So, Paul @ oscbooks.com, you are funding my Lands End to John O'Groats trip…
What do I have planned?
Well, the budget I set myself for the trip is £80 (about $160) per day. This needs to cover accomodation each night and food/beer throughout the day…
In addition, I reckon on needing to purchase about another £200 (about $400) of kit (not least a Pannier Rack so that I can actually use the Pannier Bags I purchased). I have to get a special Pannier Rack imported from the US, I found an eBay seller willing to sell and post for just over $100 (about £50). Bargain! Other than that, I have no real need for anything, except to `bling` the bike up a bit
Conclusion
Buy some eBooks for osCommerce. I highly recommend them, as I wrote most of them!
The two that I particularly want to direct people too are;
It's these two subjects that I am contacted about the most by osCommerce Users, and by spending a small amount on these eBooks, you will enjoy your osCommerce store so much more.
And, of course, by purchasing through my link, you get to help me to cycle from one end of the country to the other!

I second the recommendation for SEO for osCommerce. It was a good read, and very helpful.

Thanks Jared, appreciate your kind words

If you like bikes you'd LOVE cars. Twice the wheels, you get to sit down comfortably AND you get an engine - RESULT!

Gary,
If it helps at all, i'm off to Vegas in December so can ship stuff back with me free!

I'll keep that in mind, cheers Paul

Xeno, cars are boring, any fool can jump in car and get somewhere

For the record, Xenocide probably likes bikes more than cars, we have been doing Trowbridge to Bristol rides quite often recently.
He just likes trolling even more than both

Perhaps we should have a "meet by cycling" in Bristol one day?
Comment by Oli — September 22, 2007 @ 7:03 pm
I'd be up for some of that

Me too if you fill your new panniers with beer!
