What a shitty week.
This past week has been one of the worst of my life, a real downer. That's why I have not been around too much, and not made any posts on the blog.
Last friday, someone very close to me died suddenly - very unexpected. All week I've been dealing with that, as I am the eldest in the immediate family. Went to register the death, and the registrars computers went down - just my luck.
Coming back from the funeral took us 12 hours because of the rain and flooding out of the roads. What a nightmare.
This coming week I have to travel back and sort out the incidentals of all the paperwork, house deeds, sort out clothes for the charity shops and all the other gubbins. However, I'll be taking the laptop and be leeching off next doors unsecured wireless connection
Just a complete biatch of a week really. But there we are, death is a part of life, and there's no place for sympathy and so on.
Onto other matters - since Thursday 12th I have done very little "work" - in fact, I've spent less than 2 hours online since then - and that was a couple of forum posts and a few emails to clients.
Now, here is where the good points of AIS come into play - even though I have not worked hardly at all, I have still earned a full-time income this past 10 days. Of my 7 overall income streams, all 7 contributed at least something into the overall pot - with 4 of them being very strong (mainly product sales).
What's in the pipeline, this week?
Well, as I already mentioned, I have a shitload of paperwork to deal with, and a whole house to clean out. Work-wise, I suspect that AIS will have to work itself out as I won't be able to do hardly anything that's "work". I do have a new project that is close to completion, and this one will be probably a free of charge exercise simply for list-building.
The new project
I don't want to release too much details, suffice to say it's a method I've been using to great effect for years. As of now, I have;
- Domain Name registered
- Software being developed (it's in final stages)
- Software graphic box made (looks really good, even if I say so myself!)
- Aweber list set up and ready to rock and roll
To do
- Squeeze page (to get the email address)
- Think of an upsell
Should be an interesting experiment. I'll update the blog once I get the product out there.

Sorry to hear about the bad week.
Not everyone has an AIS income to fall back on in times like you are having.

Sorry to hear about your loss Gary- I hope everything works out smoothly for you in the coming weeks.

Thank you guys, I appreciate your kind words.
To top the week off, the area I live in has NO power and NO water - due to the floods. A town near to me is under upto THIRTY FEET of water, according to the national news last night. The Air Force and Army have been deployed to try to keep the water out of vital buildings.
It never rains, but it pours

I always forget you're in Gloucester area. Are you safe from flooding or is it getting a bit on the close side?
Comment by Gary — July 23, 2007 @ 2:08 pm
I'm pretty much safe (for now!).
The main problem is that I am supposed to be travelling back to Wales to sort out the death stuff - which is going to be impossible. I have electricity in my place as of now, but if I suddenly don't post for a few days, you'll know why.
No drinking water
Water Tankers are all over Gloucester and surrounds - I can do without water for a while. Will just have to drink more Blue Nun

We've been given 1 bowser to cover about 150 houses! How kind of them. It's really weird having to flush the toilets with water from any bucket that's collected water in the garden!

My thoughts are with you Gary, dealing with a death is hard enough without all this other stuff.
It seems weird, I left the UK nearly 3 years ago and now I live somewhere that is desperate for water, it actually rained for 10 minutes the other night and we were all standing outside in it.
Good luck with everything
Paul
