Acorn of an AIS
This morning I was going back through some emails and one in particular stood out. It was from a client who gave the basis of an idea and business…
At the time I received the email, I was too busy with other ideas to take it forwards, but I have some spare time now…so I decided to see what can be done to make the business into reality.
So I did!
Most of the work is PHP coding, which I am OK at. I do also need the help of a programmer for a "subsidiary" bonus product, so I have emailed my programmer buddie and asked him to get on board for a direct 50% split of income and expenses. Hopefully, he'll see some value in the offer! If not, the of course I can pay for the tool I need to be created.
I started coding my bits and pieces and have come up with a workable solution after just a few hours. Of course, I now need to spend more hours refining my code to a point where it can be sold as a product.
Domain Name & Hosting
I have also thought of a great domain name, and registered it. I managed to pick up quite a nice 7 letter .com for this new business. Website Hosting for the new business is easy as I have abundance of hosting, and a download script ready to plug in (thanks to JC at Portal Labs).
All in all, a productive morning - hopefully my buddy will get on board and within a week or two we can have a workable product ready to release to the masses.
More details on this new business as and when!
Personally, there is nothing I enjoy more than taking an idea and turning it into reality - it energises me. Of course, if there is a potential for profit, so much the better!

OK, I've spent all of today coding up the PHP I need. What a fscking nightmare that was. At least now I have all the nuts and bolts of the idea in place, so I can now refine the code as much as possible and move on from there.
More news to follow!

This projecty has taken up 80% of my time over the past 10 days or so. At first, I thought it was going to be really rather simple, but the further I get into it the more complicated it becomes!
1 piece of good news; the person I emailed about coming on board for a 50/50 split has agreed! Cool. More details on that when the new site is actually launched (which will hopefully be sooner rather than later).

OK, I've basically completed my end of the deal. My partner has also completed his end. Just needs final testing and then we are good to go, after which I will divulge more details.
