Spring Cleaning, 136 Not Out

Over the past few days I have been organising my AIS stuff a little more clearly - so I needed to do a stock-take;

Products

It turns out that I have 136 individual products that I am selling. This number excludes affiliated products - it is 136 products that I have created myself or had created for me.

Some of them have never sold a dime, some of them have made thousands * ROI. I wonder how many others have created so many products?

Domain Names

I then went on to a domain stock-take. I have 84 domains! Most of them are unused as I tend to buy domains when I see a good one available.

Of the 84, I am actually using 46 of them - of which 12 have monetisation, 11 are blogs ready for flipping, 3 are blogs that I actually use properly and the other 20 are sites that sell the 136 products.

Therefore, I have 38 unused domains - some of these have been used in the past, but mainly have never been used. I've also been letting lots of domains expire at renewal time. I have a really nice 4 letter domain name that is unused - I should really sell it or at least start using it for something!

Some of the domains I had totally forgotten about! One of them was pointing to a customers oscommerce store (as I had used it for transferring his site from a old server to a new server). I can use that domain for that customers own affiliate scheme :)

On the HD

I then scoured my Hard Drives for all the products to which I hold reselling rights - in other words, products which I did not create, but am able to legally sell. That task took a while but I finished up with a folder that holds over 170mb of stuff!

What next?

Next up is to get those products that are presently making me no money on my Hard Drive, up and onto a webpage ready for sale. No point in not making money with them, even if it is only pennies.

For the domains, well that's a little different - I expect that I will let them lapse as they come up for renewal. I have some very good ones, but have no real interest in taking the time to sell them.

Conclusion

I was quite surprised at just how disorganised I was. Though I keep important stuff in good order, it's all too easy to lose track of inconsequential stuff like domain names, products for selling and so on.

    I have started to try my hand at buying domain names, so if you want to email me a list of your domains, I might offer to buy some. Why let them expire if you can get a little money for them?

    There are none that are particularly saleable other than the 4 letter .com - the rest are very *very* niche. Cheers anyway :)
