BumpZee. BUMP.
Bumpzee is supposed to be the greatest thing since sliced bread, if you are wanting your peers to visit your blog(s). It seems to be a mashup of digg, mybloglog and more - it looks pretty interesting, though I am not sure about the true value of joining such a community. I don't really read many other "marketing" blogs as I have no interest in most of them, and I don't subscribe to the idea of copying other peoples posts as I see being done across many blogs. When one person posts about X, you get loads more post about X. It's pointless.
With that said, I thought it would be interesting to at least give BumpZee a go, even if only for month to see if traffic increased, and whether the traffic was (is) any good.
So, I signed up - which was not painless. For some reason the sign up form wouldn't work in Firefox, so I had to resort to Internet Explorer. It seems like I signed up a day or two before some major changes were made - as it turns out, I had only signed up for a "profile" - I now had to submit this blog to a community.
The nearest community at that time was "Affiliate Marketing", so that was the one I submitted to. As of now, which must be at least 2 weeks later, my blog is still "Pending Review"
I learned that Jim Kukral has started up a new BZ community, which is much closer to what this blog is about; "How To Be Successful Online". So I have today submitted the blog to that community. Will see how it goes, and if accepted, will report back on the traffic.

Sounds like a lot of hassle. Not a good way to attract a community.

It's in beta, so you'll have to excuse the bumps. I just approved your blog, thanks for joining. Try putting the widgets in?

Many thanks Jim. That was actually pretty painless, the key was to actually get the blog approved!

Well, remember, it's still all beta. I'm in charge of one of the first communities. I try to approve blogs at least once a day.

Burt, thanks for checking it out, and giving it a second shot after the bad experience a few weeks ago.
We've checked out the signup process in Firefox and found no problems, but we've gone through a few redesigns since then. The approval process was in flux back then as well. All in all, bad timing I guess.
