Earlier today, I noticed that there were some domain names expiring in my Namecheap account. In the past, Namecheap has had some pretty decent discount codes available, but they now seem to have been deactivated for renewals and only work with new registrations or transfers.

I emailed Namecheap support to enquire as to whether there was one I could use for renewal, and recieved this (very prompt) response:

Hello, Oli.

We have the renewal coupon for accounts that have over 50 domains with us. Your account is having only 37…

However, I am forwarding your request to our management for their further consideration.

Thank you.

I thought nothing more of it - it was only a few domains that needed renewing, and I was happy enough to pay the full price if I had to.

Then, a few hours later, I recieved:

Hello Oli,

I have gone ahead and set up your account to use the coupon code — ********. This coupon may only be used within your account and includes renewals.

So if you need to buy something like this, it can never hurt to just ask if any discounts are available - the worst they can say is no!`
