Group Blogging on Wordpress - seperate RSS feeds

Regular readers will have noticed that this blog has 3 authors. Myself, Oli and Dave.  For historical reasons this blog uses a centralised RSS feed via feedburner, which is fine and dandy.

However, I wanted to sign up at "bumpzee" which is a digg-like site for internet marketers and associated people. For this, I thought it unfair to have all three authors lumped into one, as perhaps Oli and/or Dave don't want to be listed! So I set out to explore the possibilities of finding a plugin or hack which would allow seperate feeds for each author.

After a few days of searching (on and off, mind you), I pretty much failed to find one - there was one which cliamed to do it, but was for v1.5 of wordpress, and never updated for v2 onwards. I pretty much gave up looking.

The Solution

Whilst hunting for something else entirely I came across a post (sorry, I've forgotten which blog) which stated to add the username and then /feed/ - I tried this and it works!

So, if you have more than 1 author and want seperate feeds (and you are using nice permalinks), try this:

http://www.yoursite.com/author/USERNAME/feed/

Obviously swap USERNAME for your actual username. You can find this on the Users Tab of your WP Admin Area.

I hope this helps someone to save some time and frustration!
