Blog Flipping Exercise

Ok, so I decided to go ahead with the Blog Flipping Idea - if only to establish whether or not the idea will work.  Here's my progress;

  1. Domain Name purchased
I managed to find a pretty good domain name!
  2. Domain Name configured
Name Servers configured and Whois made private.
  3. Website Hosting Set up
I have a few reseller accounts, so no problem there.
  4. Wordpress Set up
I found a decent looking theme and installed a couple of extra plugins
  5. PLR Articles sourced from my stock
Using Oli's PLR Search, I scoured my stock of articles and found well over 100 articles ready for use.

So far, I reckon I have spent 45 minutes on this project.  From tomorrow, I shall be posting up 1 article per day.  I will update this thread as and when anything of consequence happens to the Blog (eg acquisition of PR and so on).  I will not be divulging the URL and would ask that if anyone finds the Blog, please do not divulge the URL either.

For posting articles, I intend to load up a full months articles in one go.  I expect this to take 1 minute per article - therefore 30 minutes work per month.  Each week I will also be submitting links to the Social Bookmarking Sites.  I will also submit the site to Google, MSN, Yahoo and so on.

Over the course of the 3 month period, I expect to spend no more than 3 hours TOTAL in working this site.  It will be an interesting experiment and I reckon a valuable lesson in "working for future funds" rather than an immediate hit (of Adsense say).

I also just now remembered to put on a Alexa Button in order to game the Alexa rating ;)

If it works, do as many as you can, as quickly as you can - before some "guru" releases an ebook/script on how to do it ;)

Good luck with the site Burty.
Out of interest why didnt you want to post up the URL?

It wouldn't be typical conditions if a significant number of readers of this blog kept an eye on the test blog and so might skew any results obtained from it.

If nothing else, the traffic stats would be inflated over what they would otherwise naturally be.

Are you just posting the PLR articles as-is or are you re-writting them/spinning them through PLR Mana?

Like One Dollar a Day… are you re-writing the PLR articles or just putting them up?

Oh yeah whoops - silly question. Thanks for clearing that up Will :)

Some will be re-written, some not. Depends on how the articles already are.

Good luck Burt, I'll be interested in your results.

Did you get my email I sent?

OK, loading up posts inside WP is mind-numbing. I need to explore an automated way to do that.

So far, I have December and January posts all loaded up. I'll do March manually, and then have a think about how to do it automatically.

I think that I am going to do one of these projects per week, rather than per month…

The upside of this is that the sites might flip for enough cash. And if they do not sell, then I have a decent site in my portfolio on which to do the adsense thing, sell an eBook and so on.

I have a number of resellable eBooks, so I am going to concentrate on choosing subjects which complement possible future sales.

Matt; I get loads of email, it might have got tagged as spam, could you resend?

    Thanks Burty, Resent.
Was just wondering, did anyone make it to the SecretYellowSeminar this Saturday? I was there, wondered if anyone else was

Thanks Ray. I had forgotten that I own Rss to Blog (which is perfect for the job of auto-posting to WP).

I've now manually loaded my first flipper (Dec, Jan, Feb) - from hereonin I shall use rss2b for future flippers.
