Apprentice No More

The UK version of `The Apprentice` stars a self made entrepreneur called Alan Sugar. Made his money during the 80s in the computer industry mainly. He prides himself on being a self made man, and likes to be in charge of his own destiny.

Enter Stage Right; Michelle Dewberry. The latest `winner` of The Apprentice reality show. I believed and still believe that she was the one who would work best with Alan Sugar. The other candidate was simply too bolshy, and knew too much already.

After a bunch of personal shenanigans, it appears that Michelle has left the building! Which kind of makes a mockery of the whole `The Apprentice` as a business program. I ain't going into any presonal details, it's been widely reported by the UK newspapers and TV.

What this does bring me to is the fact that although the job on offer by Alan Suger commands a high salary at £100k ($180k) per annum - I imagine that for the money, Alan Sugar is an absolute slavedriver (in the business sense).

I liken the whole thing to Shylock, who wanted his pound of flesh from The Merchant of Venice. I don't blame Michelle for leaving the company behind, there's enough about her to be a success on TV - she has the looks and business brain, perhaps she is not a slick enough talker yet, but that can be learned quite easily…

I suspect we have not seen the last of Michelle - watch out for her popping up presenting Business type programs such as "Boss Swap", or even "Dragons Den"…

I disagree. It takes more than just being blonde to succeed in business.

I believe that Michelle could have learned quite a bit from Alan Sugar. Unfortunately she allowed herself to be "distracted" by the Asian bloke. Disappointing and just a bit typical.

Alan Sugar is a character yes but if anything you'll get a behind the scenes look at what it takes to be as successful as him in exchange for a year of your life. If you can't hack it, stay out of the kitchen.

So, what are you disagreeing about and who with :D I'm saying she has a good head for business, and the right look for TV.

Question for you; would you give away a year of your life to be controlled in everything you do from 7am to 9pm ?

    Burt

I disagree with the comment about Michelle being a successful businessperson. I don't think she is.

And yes I'd exchange a year of my life working for Alan Sugar in a heartbeat. If you are smart then you'll learn a lot. And you can get a valuable mentor in Alan Sugar who has been there done it

I've just read the latest article on the dailymail.co.uk website about Michelle and the person that finished in 2nd place: Badger. Badger is now a success running her own business.
