Web site copywriting….

Pretty much on impulse I recently pitched for a couple of web copywriting jobs and pulled both of them - gulp! I do a bit of promo copy in another line of business so I should be ok with it but I didn't think it would happen quite so quickly. $65 per hour so not to be sniffed at and probably ten or twelve hours work in total (plus new skills for the portfolio).

Hardly AIS but another example of how the web can pay if you seize the opportunities. In Gary's words, "don't procrastinate" - give it a whirl and you may be pleasantly surprised.

Pretty good to get out of you comfort zone!
I bought 'The Copywriters Handbook' by Robert Bly and can recommend it.
Where did you pitch for the work? Was it elance? If so, I'd be keen to see a post on how you went about doing it.

Hey Dom, sorry for the late reply, been too busy writing to post iyswim.

It wasn't on elance - just had a look there and the bids seem kinda low to me. Lots of work for little reward. The work I got was in a niche where we already operate and where I got wind that web design clients (Doctors, Dentists, Lawyers etc) were struggling to find time to compile their own stuff. So I made them an offer and dropped lucky.

Jobs are both done and I'm now looking for the next.

    Dave
