Moths to the Flame
So, we have another round of herd marketing going on. Marketers who are pimping Mike Filsaimes "new" Manuscript (which is actually a part of the other "butterfly marketing" product from a few months ago).
A few months back, I unsubscribed many newsletters as they all followed the Herd and started pimping Butterfly Marketing. Moo. It seemed to be a race to how many each affiliate could sell based on bonuses given.
And over the past day or two, I've unsubscribed some more lists and blogs, due to the herd marketing this "new" product. It's beyond a joke. Herd marketing at it's best. Moo.
Now, I have no doubt that the manuscript is a valuable tool to some people. And I have no doubt that marketers need to sell affiliated products in order to eat. And I have no doubt that people have signed up to lists in order to receive such products…
But, I'm sick and tired of the constant merry-go-round of Marketers outdoing each other, sending multiple mails, making cheesy videos etc etc. Why not come up with your own product to actually sell ?
So, the upshot is that I am now a member of just 2 mailing lists. And one of the Blogs I unsubscribed had four, yes four, messages one after the other each promoting this product. No thanks.
It's got to the point where I am thinking that the majority of Internet Marketers are pretty much in it to earn commission, rather than earn commission *and* help their subscribers at the same time.

I know what you mean. One blog I felt I should be reading I've recently realised that about one post in 10 is from the actual owner and the past few have been about this new manuscript.
I subscribe to blogs to read about their thoughts, ideas, influences, questions and day to day events. Not stacks of articles they've got from other people or constant posts on products I'm never going to look at!

Sarah, I believe we may be talking about the very same Blog.
I unsubscribed from the Blogs' live bookmark, and am about to remove myself from the forum as well.
Seems to me that someone got a little too big for his boots. And that's a pity.

I think we all know who that is. A shame.

If you're talking about the person I think you might be, I do think his posts add more value than a lot of peoples.
Sure, there were affiliate links, but you still got a genuine review of the product so I feel I know more about it than I would have done otherwise.
Nevertheless I can see why some people would be annoyed by the number of posts on the same topic.

Talking about unprofessional, these very same Internet marketers could at least test their links before they email them out to thousands of people only to follow them up with "Oops, some of you have mailed me back to say that the link was broken"…
TESTING, people!

"Some of you have emailed me saying the link was broken" = "Just emailing you again in case your spam filter got the first one" An excuse to send you the link again, keeping it at the front of your mind and reminding you to buy it.

You are soooooooo right. I unsubscribed to all but one list, and removed all blogs. The ones I like I just visit and read.
My inbox is less full, and my time is now better spent.
Regards

I'm glad to say I haven't even heard of this manuscript, that's how out of the loop I am, how few crap mailing lists I belong to and how few rubbish blogs I read!
That said, I feel a little left out lol

Didn't think this topic would be quite so popular.
Overnight I received one more email about this from a newsletter I didn't even know I had joined! MOO! Unsubscribed.

It took me literally 4 years to wake-up and realise to FOCUS on my own thing. I listened to him then her then him. I bought this product didn't use it, bought the next product used it for a bit.
Sound familiar?
The majority of hypeletters do this - there must be a bunch of subscribers out there that want, well just a newsletter. You know the one's that actually give you advice.
I don't mind the soft sell but what I get these days is just a Joke. These guys don't deserve a good following they're abusing it and must be losing subscribers by the bucket load.
Stop following the sheep…
I get very angry about this.
The following is a re-enactment of a horror email, please do not be afraid as actors were used in the making of this.

I had to kick myself I thought I was dreaming!
