Negative People do my head in
I've come to the conclusion that negative people do my head in - big time. I cannot understand why people have to moan and groan and gripe about products/services - without offering up a way to solve their perceived problems.
This morning, on my daily blog travels I found someone who I regularly read had linked to another Internet Marketing Blogger. Great I thought, let's see what this new person has to say…
90% of his posts are moaning about something or other. I even found some griping about FREE products! This is definitely the sort of person I need to avoid, as I find negativity like this to be a total energy sink.
I won't grace this Blog with a link! I've not even bothered to subscribe to his RSS feed, the amount of negativity is that bad.
Sure, it's all well and good to have a little moan about things, heck I'm doing that now - but moaning about things that are absolutely free of charge? Get a life.
A great salesman once told me;
If you cannot say anything good/constructive about a product, service or company then don't say anything at all.
This blogger needs to learn to be more positive, one day he'll find all his negative thoughts will rebound on him 10-fold. What goes around, comes around.

your salesman was right, I don't buy from any sales professional who is trashing the competition instead of playing on there own (business) strengths …
It's a kind of character thread that I'm allergic too and run away from

People used to say that my blog was really negative and that all I ever did was bitch and moan (personal blog btw) but what I soon realised was that I only ever posted about the bad things that happened in my life. Not intentionally, it's just that when I was sad or angry my blog was a "safe place" to vent my feelings, where as when I was very happy or ecstatic about something I rarely blogged it as I found other ways to enjoy those feelings, being with irl friends or practicing hobbies etc…
However, I agree that nothing good can come of negativity, especially in your game. If people persistantly put a bad spin on their blog/products/clients they'll end up with no readers, which kind of defeats the point of that type of blog…

Carine - nice to see you over here!
HCG - I think a personal blog is somewhat different to a "business" blog. Do what you like in a personal blog, I'd say…

I agree, I was just trying to make the point that people often forget to blog about the good stuff, even on a business blog. It's much easier to get carried away with slagging off a product than it is to say "that product was awesome".
