My old Marin (Bear Valley SE) is an absolute workhorse that saw it's best days about 10 years ago. I decided to go out and myself a new bike ready for my planned bike ride…

So, I got myself a shiny new Marin B17. I wanted a road bike, but in the end could not be without a MTB.

My planned bike ride - sometime during August, I intend to cycle the length of the Welsh Border, from Chepstow in the south to Chester in the North. Should take a few days all being well. More details to follow - if you live anywhere near the Border let me know where to avoid ;)

If you are after a good cycle, you cannot go far wrong with a Marin.  Well recommended.

Avoid going just past Chester then ;)

Sounds like a great trip however :)

Agree with your assessment of Marins. My Nail Trail has given me 8.5 years of sterling service and is still going strong. Had a couple of refits along the way, but nothing major.

Did a nice 20 mile ride yesterday. Difficult to get used to the new riding position - seems to be much "higher" than the previous Marin, and consequently a lot more unstable.

    Tis a nice bike though!
