Internet Marketing Observations

I recently unsubscribed a lot of marketing newsletters as they were all pimping the "Butterfly Marketing" product; overpriced and out-of-reach for most people. And now there is another new product that most are pimping which is priced at $997.

Yet, when a tool comes along but pays smaller commission, it's usually all but ignored. After all, the commission on a $997 product is bound to be much more than the commission on a $50 product.
Some months back I sent email to all the big, known marketers and received only a couple of replies. If you have a product that you would like to Joint Venture with one of the big boys, this is not how to do it.

I've since some to realise that there is an evolution of Internet Marketers, going something like this: serf, farmer, merchant, knight, lord, king, god. What I did was target the Kings and Gods. I should have targetted the farmers and merchants…

In the end, I was put off JVing that particular product (PLR Manna) due to kings and gods not replying, or replying with "increase the price, I'll think about it".

For my latest JV attempt, I came to the attention of a "Lord" - and of course, he has the attention of the Kings and Gods…I had to come to agreement for the lord to present my product up the chain. That's not cheap, the lord has a % of sales, the JV has a % of sales, fees come out of that, then I get my cut!

But anyway, the point of my post is to bring you the news that a "God" yesterday promoted my Site Building tool to his list of over 35,000 subscribers. Of course, I have no real input to anything but it's nice to know that my tool might take off substantially over the coming weeks.

The other point; now that one "God" has recommended the product, I am fairly certain to see other "Lords, Kings and Gods" promoting it as well in the coming weeks.

I understand that this post is sort of cryptic, but hopefully you'll understand that us, as "peasant" Marketers need all the help we can get to sell products. After all, a small slice of a large cake, might taste much nicer than eating a whole tiny cake…or it might not. Only time will tell.

Nicely and accurately put! I shall wait for the sales pitch for your product to drop through my email soon. It'll be interesting to see how they market and promote it.

BTW, this is Burt/Gary isn't it? Can't see the author on the post.

Chris: The author's name is above the article, just underneath the title :)

    Hi Burt,

I have just unsubscribed from at least 5 newsletters. I only hang onto to the ones who do not as you say pimp the same stuff!.

It add's nothing to the otherwise quality of their newsletter, especially the lazy ones who copy the same sales script! (talk about cowboy) - do they think we are stupid?

I already now about the product because I do my homework, I search around.

If you're out their listening, you are losing subscribers because you pimp to much shite!

There is a right and wrong way to sell to your subscriber list and most of them oversell (greedy)

At least you can just click the unsubsribe link and BAM their gone!

    Great, my rant over.

The best thing you can do if you're about to start out online is find and subscribe to the good one's. Who will give out quality info - then unsubscribe from the rubbish and they are easy to spot.

This leaves you with an open mind to start your own product - Affiliate site or whatever else you have in mind!

If you don't do this, they will continue to bombard you with deal after deal and your head will be in a spin and you will get knowhere.

    Like I did :)

    Cheers.
