Yaro's Thoughts about Adsense (Abuse)…
Over at the EJ Blog, Yaro has made a good post about Adsense and how he is seeing more and more sites with Adsense on. It's a an interesting read and some of the comments are also somewhat interesting - good to see people arguing about something!
With the new advent of Site Builders specifically built to implement adsense sites in seconds, the number of adsense based sites is going to grow in the future. So better get used to it!
Having said that, it does annoy me that so many scraper sites exist. I'm trying to make people see that there is a viable alternative to building scraper sites: building content based sites.
If the "scrapees" could build a content based site faster than they could build a scraper, there would soon be a sea-change in the "sites for adsense" business. Of course, whether this would be good (for the Internet at large) remains to be seen, in my opinion anything is better than a scraped site.

And then once everyone has article sites, their value will decrease just as scrapers are now, and we'll all move on to something new…

Google is in the advertising business, and if they can't deliver to their advertisers they will have problems. So Google will sooner than later figure out a way to delist, de-index, de-something to scraped sites because they add no value.
Those who take the time to build content sites that deliver real, useful information will remain. I myself do and will continue to spend my valuable time building quality content sites that I know will stay around along time. I don't want to play the Google catch up game.

I think the problem is that scrapping is fast and easy content. Real content takes work and time.

Perhaps there is a silver lining to all these scraped sites - if everyone learned to search more effectively they would probably get the proper sites rise to the top?
I don't know. I don't do that much searching to be honest.
