Mmmmm. Spare Rib.
I've had a slight pain in my side since I fell off my bike a few days back. Put it down to pulling a muscle, as the pain is really nothing serious - more uncomfortable than actual pain.
Got to the point today where I decided to go to the Doctor to get it checked, just in case, considering I've been fairly poorly for most of this year. Turns out I've cracked one of my ribs! No more bike-riding for me according to the Doc
I don't know why, but I'm usually quite lucky in everything I do. The one exception is my health - I'm either needing treatment, getting treatment or recovering from treatment. I've had a good month or so, then I go and bust a rib. Ho hum.
The last time I fell off my bike, I managed to dive headlong into a steel post - good job I always wear a helmet. The last really good (self caused) accident I had was when I was ski-ing at Gloucester dry ski slope - managed to get a tip caught under a mat and cartwheeled about 30 metres - knocked myself unconscious. Still managed to drive home though ![]()

Last year I bust 2 ribs (fell off a scooter!) and fuxxored my neck big style coming off a ramp at Sherwood Pines - bike bounced, I didn't. My son pi–ed himself laughing as I nearly passed out
I got through skiing with no serious knocks in Feb and for the rest of the year the old git will continue taking it easy

That cartwheeling down Gloucester Ski slope is a common one!
Our school activity week concluded with a fair few people doing just what you did and the only thing that comes off ok is that matting!
Don't fancy the cheese-rolling down Coopers Hill then?!

The last thing I did was partially dislocate my shoulder showboarding. I got it back in the socket, and continued down the mountain, sore for the next couple of weeks.

I was skiing down a mogul hill having a great run and went off a 30 ft jump. When going through the air all I thought about was how sorry I felt for the poor sucker whose skis were falling just below me … well you can figure the rest out.

When will you boys learn? Exercise damages your health. Far better to sit on the sidelines supping something tasty and watch the other silly buggers making arses of themselves.
