A new type of AIS !

How about finding a supplier of products/services that will give you a fully functioning bespoke store, linked to their own checkout process. When customers purchase, you get a 50% cut of the total sale? Sounds good.

This is very similar to "Template Monster" - I've had quite good success selling Template Monster Templates in the past, but decided to get out of that business a while back - so I sold my TM sites on.

Then I had another think about this type of business, so decided to track down other companies who offer the same type of service (but not template sales). It didn't take me long to come across rather a nice set-up who offer 20 or 30 bespoke stores ready for you to download and promote. Each of these stores offers a different product, on which the store owner earns upto 50% commission.

I already had a great domain name to use, which has Google PR2 - the only problem being that the bespoke store is being used by many people promoting the product. I have to get traffic in a different way to just using Search Engines. My choice for creating traffic to the Store is as follows:

  1. I might try Adwords. Undecided at this point.
  2. Feeder Site. Build a content site based on the niche, where each page will linkback to the new site. Simple to do as I have a second domain in the same niche which at this moment is an "adsense site" - I'll simply amend this site.
  3. Article Submission. I might write a few articles on the subject and distribute them around the article sites.

It should be interesting to see if cash can be made via this system. If it does take off, it'll be a nice AIS as everything (and I mean *everything*) is handled by the provider. Payment, Customer Service, Postage etc - all done for you.

I'm going to give this a spin over the next 3 months and see how it goes. I will report back on my findings. If I can make a couple hundred $ by the end of August that'll be good - if not, then I will dump the idea and use the domains for something else.

How about a more specific hint for the hard of thinking? ;)

This is what we're looking to do with Comms Store when it finally goes live.

Other companies who we work with who offer similar services will be able to create an account where they are the 'Account manager' and they will get a commission on everything sold to their users but we will look after all shipping and billing etc.

Would you ever consider doing it but as the store/product supplier and not the punter - kinda "ShopEtxra" with a twist. Oscomm would do the job. Might be hard work looking after all the admin tho'…

    cheers for the link :)
