osCommerce - a bit strange ?
I've a client who needs quite a lot of osCommerce work done - I don't have the time to do it all, so I thought I would contact one of the osCommerce Team…
The only two I would use are Mattice, and Christian Lescuyer.
Anyway, I go to the Team Page at osCommerce to get the two email addresses that I need, to find that Mattice and Christian no longer appear to be Team Members! I can't access the Forum to find out why that is, but it seems strange to me.
I'll try to find out more.

Wow… where has the development team gone? Is Harold the only one on the dev team now?
It does seem rather strange that the dev team has been completely taken off of the team page.
The way back machine has a copy of the team page from last march though, if you want to get their contact info.

it is my opion that recognition should be maintained of those that have contributed to the core oscommerce code, and not just quickly remove any reference of them.
Hopefully this will be food for thought for some people and their future decisions.

It's strange. I emailed them both and have had no reply as yet.
It's almost as if they disappeared into thin air!

Ok, I followed the link to the NL osCommerce Forum and found some comments from Mattice:
The rumours are indeed where; I have stepped from the team. I see that some people rather hurry myself already my tracks have had to… erase that this even my work on the workboard concern I had not yet confirmed given but for me only and other one. Sad. osCommerce the Netherlands continue continue however ordinary in current form. I will will myself aim in the close future then probable also more at these community.
Sorry for the Babelfish - I speak no Dutch. It would seem that Mattice is no longer part of the team, and that HPDL has removed all mention of him.
Now, I have no idea whether Mattice was pushed from the Team or whether he chose to leave of his own accord.

OK, I did a bit more digging and came to the conclusion that there was a difference in politics between Harald and (at least) Mattice.
When this happens, and people say "no" to Harald, he generally gets a little upset.
Anyway, the problems appear to be something to do with the oscommerce.nl domain name. More to follow…
