Just a quickie to remind myself
Just a short note to remind myself of a good idea I had.
Once the "surname search" is coded, I want to try to link it into a twitter feed (so the tweets automatically appear). I found a Twitter PHP class at http://twitter.slawcup.com/twitter.class.phps which might do the job.
Eg (on Twitter); Someone just successfully searched for the surname "Burton" on www . site . com
What then do is go around the "twitterverse" adding lots of genealogy type tweeters as friends in the hope that they "friend" me. Hence a bit of easy (and free!) publicity each time someone searches.
Anyway, ignore this post, as it's just a simple idea that might work.
Might you be able to use something similar in your existing or new sites?

I've started to add automated Twitter posting from some of my websites to try and bring in additional visitors

just be careful as it can really annoy people as well. will this be the site where you sell the meanings of the surname i think i bought one from you
