Lotsachanges
The last couple months have been a rock and roller coaster in the life of Burt. I was finally given the all clear after what seems like years of living with the thought that cancer might return, so to "celebrate" I decided to completely change my lifestyle.
LTR and myself decided to seperate - which is a good thing as the relationship was stale beyond belief. I bought myself (well, mortgaged to the hilt) an apartment in an old house, whch also has 3 other apartments. The other people are just great, it's fantastic to finally find a place that I am completely at home in and comfortable with the whole situation. Upstairs my neighbour is brilliant. If you can imagine the campest man possible and then multiply that by 10 you might be close to how camp this guy is. We get on like a house on fire.
Downstairs is a hot blonde which is nice, I know that me and she are going to have a LOT of fun in the future, that is for sure. I'll let you know how it goes, maybe
The guy in the bottom apartment is just "normal", a 9 to 5 type guy which is fine. Nice guy, but on a completely different plane of existance to what I am used to so that's something that I need to get used to. All in all, a great bunch - the house is a happy place - three of us just polished off a few bottles of wine which was a lot of fun.
In business terms, I'm still in the process of dumping my sites - basically I am uninterested in the vast majority of my sites, so I am mainly deleting the sites and letting the domains lapse - no interest in most things internet. What I am interested in, is going back to e-commerce type stuff, and helping people to realise their e-comm dreams - getting some good satisfaction from that at the moment.
That's your update from osWorld…as I have not posted in weeks, I thought I better let you all know I'm not dead, yet ![]()

I'm sure I'm not alone in supposing that you'd just gone in search of a shrubbery . . .

Great news to hear you've had the all clear. Your new home sounds like a lot of fun. Anyone who you can share a bottle or two of wine with can't be bad

Had my three year all clear this summer…. An amazing feeling, not sure if it'll be relief or panic at 5 years when they stop checking me!
I know what you mean about changing your viewpoint though!

Glad you are doing well, it seems many people I know have had this issue and some make it while others do not, glad you are in the first group Gary
Seems eCommerce has gotten into a bit of a rut lately without much in terms of advancement and innovations (I am not talking about the developments of vers 3 osC).
Might be more insights and ease of use are needed by the vast majority of all projects is needed to be realized.
cheers and happy wine drinking

I'm glad to see you back and that the news gave you the all clear - wonderful! It definitely sounds like quite the rollercoaster ride you've had in the past few months - but from the sounds of it you're doing great… and that's awesome to hear
Sometimes taking a step back and realizing what is really important is needed every now and again
So have a drink for me!

Burt,
I was actually thinking of you, and your ventures yesterday night, and meant to read your blog at some point this week.
I never knew you were at any point suffering from any sort of illness or sickness, and I commend you for being a cheery chap all the way through. Your illness never appeared in any of your contacts with me, or via your blog. Hats off to you for not letting it get you down.
As for breaking up with your partner, well, thats always a blessing in disguise, although I had you done as a life long bachelor!
Good luck with your new ventures, and keep on inspiring us all.

Hey buddy,
As you probably worked out, I' catching up with all your blog postings!
I guess I echo everyone's sentiments in the well done/congrats and the sorry for the split up thing. My father is suffering the same thing as you (not the break up - he's 74!) so I have an idea of how hard it can be.
As a sub-note, ping me an email about sites your offloading, I'd happilly give you a few quid for some of them and make the work worthwile (hopefully!)
Cheers
