I decided to use this blog as more of an outlet for me and my daily crap.  Rather than talk about the goings on with Internet Marketing, Making Money etc, I decided to change osWorld to more of a "what is Gary upto" type blog.

I'm completely sick and tired of Internet Marketers, Internet Marketing and all the associated bullshit that most so called "marketers" come out with.  What I want to see is people promoting useful products rather than overhyped shite.  There's a few marketers who I think are good guys.

So, I decided to absolutely cut back on selling to people in the "make money online" world - most of whom won't make more than a couple hundred dollars online ever, as they don't understand that it takes hard work to build up an ongoing monthly income.  They want the "silver bullet" and that's something that no-one can provide.

For the rest of 2008

I recently purchased a website that I sold about 3 years ago - my main aim for 2008 is to get this website producing £1000 (that's about $2000) per month averagely.  That'll be quite a challenge, but the signs are looking good that this will be achievable.  To give some idea, the site has been producing about £250 ($500) per month for the last 6 months, I've managed to up that a bit, but have some more ideas to up it even further.

All the other bits and pieces that I own/run are, as of now, basically abandoned - the good thing is that the vast majority are AIS so they don't take an awful lot of work anyway. I'm going to be selling off a number of my products and domains over the coming months so keep an eye on this blog for details.

I doubt if it's possible to get rich quick, and suspect that most Internet marketing stuff is just hype.

We bought one of your products for one of our smaller sites and completely turned that site around. But we had to put in hours of work to do it. Even to the extent of making a couple of hundred new pages. Yes, you showed us how and gave us the means to do it, but we still had to work at it.

It was a great deal for us, of course, because we could've worked just as hard for no reward. Now we're sitting pretty with that site pulling in as much as it does. :-)

I agree, there's no "silver bullet". The right tools and hard work are what's needed.

    Thanks again.

(PS: Less than $15 in the month before we made the changes you suggested and now more than $350 on the same site last month. Can't really argue with that can you?)

I'm one of the disorganised s*ds that is quite happy with having bought a couple of 'businesses in box' from you, but hasn't yet got round to implementing my ideas of what to do with them… Now that wifie is deserting the nest for a month or so, I may be able to avoid gardening and demolition obligations for long enough to get on with it - but I'm not promising anything. First I must dedicate some effort to a few of my own 'invented here' projects. 2008 is the year of consolidation. Good luck!

I am really happy for you to be quite honest. I think there is nothing more liberating than removing those sites/ideas that were weighing you down and focusing on things you love. I have to say that the products I've bought from you were top-drawer. So as you sell your items off - let us know! :)

I wish you all the best Gary!! Woo!

Interesting stuff Gary - as Empress says, might be quite liberating just focusing on one site.

So is the plan still to earn from the other sites but just leave them running rather than develop them any more?

    Good luck with it!

So, what is Gary up to?

A welcome change actually Gary, I've done my time messing with the Internet Marketing game and still dabble occasionally when I find time between my other projects.

Kay said it all really, people see the online business owner as someone who sits at home with his feet on the desk and a coffee in one hand whilst watching TV! In actual fact anybody that is making 100% of their income online will probably be too busy with new project to pick up the TV remote (which is probably largely why you haven't updated this blog since 3rd May ;-)

Gary have you thought of just consulting on businesses, you appear to have "the knack"?

You paint a very bad picture of internet marketing. I am just now getting started with it. It IS tough to find the 'good guys' in the business. I think that internet marketers think that there isn't enough to go around, leading to a dog eat dog world out there.

At least me in my naivety thinks so.

I only have a small amount of time each month for marketing so It's been tough. Though waiting around for Google to make up it's mind on my sites placement is easy enough.

    Anywho,
    Vincent
