Busy, busy. Like a Bee.

Been really busy this last week.  Some of you will know that I acquired a couple sites, both of which need a bit of love and attention.  My efforts have been going into those.

Site 1 sells eBooks.  The design is stale so the 1st thing was to make a new design.  I was going to use Wordpress, but in the end I decided not to.  Anyway, design is now completed and I will upload it in about 10 days from now.  Why the delay?  The old site has a self hosted affiliate script, the new site will use Digital Product Delivery.  I want to give Affilaites a chance to update their links.  This site also needs a couple of the eBooks updated to 2008…that's my next task.

Site 2 sells templates.  The design of this site is about 4 years old, but is still one of the best designs for this particular piece of software.  No problems there!  However, ALL the products need updating!  There are about 20 products in total, and each will take about 2 hours of work to update.  I will do 1 product per day until all are complete.  I also have contacted someone to make some new templates (which I then integrate to the software) and we will then split proceeds on each sale.  If anyone else is interested in such an arrangement, please email me ;)

1 Month is back on track for a 1st April launch.  I have the sales script ready to go, and the rest of the site is completed.  I just need to find a product - and make some "buy now" links.  Because the price changes daily on this site, I can't use a download service, so this one is using a self made script - hope it works OK!  If you are not on the mailing list for 1 month, please get yourself over to 1 month and sign up.

I also have an idea for a new site, but this one will be with a few partners.  I know what I want to do and have approached a couple potential partners who I think might make a good fit.  More news on this to follow…

I have not been able to get on my bike for the last 10 days because I've been so busy - and the weather is also pretty awful.  Oh well.  I'll make up for it soon enough.

    Burt,

How do you keep yourself motivated when working from home? Im practically sick to the back teeth of it. Boring. boring boring.

I even applied for a job, the other day!

It's difficult, very difficult - and very very boring. I know exactly what you mean about getting a job - I've thought about it.

What keeps me going is the thought that I am my own boss, so I can work when I want and do what I want.

I hear you both on that one. I sit in front of this damned computer all day doing my "day job", then I sit at the same desk, in front of the same screen, doing my "online adventures" at night.

I just try to get out for lunch a lot (a lot of my mates are self employed or work shifts, so this is possible).

It's a solitary life, but the great thing is I get much more time with my kids than most blokes my age. :-)

I just remind myself that I can go down to the beach, when the weather is nice, whenever I feel like it ;)

@ Sarah - you live in the UK right?

The impression we get here in Aus is that UK beaches have rocks instead of sand, and the water is freezing.

    Am I wrong?

UK yes, cold water, well yes most of the time, no sand? Not by us - one local beach. I live on a peninsular so we have a few beaches close by.

PS. sorry for your post hijack Gary!

    Oh no worries!

There are some real nice beaches in South Wales. The OLD South Wales, not the New South Wales ;)

Ahhh good point. Swansea beach is massive when the tide's out, Barry Island is gorgeous (when it's quiet) too!

My absolute fave beach is Ogmore By Sea. Real nice, real quiet and it has a river running right through the middle of it. Cracking!

And of course, you have all the lovely beaches in Devon and Cornwall!

I get bored , but then I realise that there is no way I could spend so much time with my daughter if I was back in the rat race.

I know I am her dad but I think she is worth the sacrifice.

We can go to the park whenever we want, but it is a bit far to the beach..lol
    I live in Utah..
