I have a very small circle of people who I go to for advice. Usually, I prefer to plough my own furrow and learn from any mistakes I make. One of that small circle is a British Expat by the name of Mark Thompson. I've known of Mark for a few years and can tell you he ain't a BS merchant and his whole aim is very much similar to mine. Share information and let's all make some money.

Sidenote: one day I'll make a blog post of all those people in the Internet Marketing "game" who I do like and trust. It'll be a short blog post, but at least you guys would then get to know some great people.

With that in mind, I asked Mark for a review copy of his latest system called "Wordpress Goldmine". This is a 90(ish) page eBook which shows how to set up a monetized Wordpress Blog - but set up in such a way that you probably haven't thought of…

What's in the eBook?

Well, I can't divulge too much for obvious reasons;

Section 1 deals with actually setting up a Wordpress Install (including setting up correctly for SEO purposes and listing some essential plugins).

Section 2 is all about where to obtain Content, and includes buying content, commissioning content and writing your own content (correctly!). I know that my content leaves much to be desired - so this was quite helpful for me.

Sidenote: I'm also now aware of a nice plugin that helps with getting unique content!

Section 3 is then talking about monetizing the blog.

Then you have supplementary sections such as Blog Promotion, "Web2.0" and a bluepring for making money…

The best aspect of this book is that it is written very much in a style that I like - down to earth, with no techno-speak. There is nothing worse than finding an eBook where you have to ask others what it means after you've read it.

There are a couple of minor things in the eBook that I disagree with, but you have to look at what Mark has achieved - $17,000 income from 1 blog post - yes, you read that right - $17k from ONE blog post. Obviously, that is an exceptional result, and your results will vary! But if you can 1% of that figure from your blog post, wouldn't you be happy? I know that I would.
