Facebook PPC? Not For Me
There's been a lot of buzz about Facebook's PPC advertising network recently, so I thought I'd give it a go.
In theory, it seems like a great idea - you can target your advert to appear to certain people while they're logged in to their Facebook account based on their profile information.
This can include their location (right down to the town/city they live in, if required), their gender, age, interests, educational status, where they work, their political views or their relationship status.
Imagine you are running a singles night for young people in your town. You could set up an ad to display to all Facebook users who live locally, are aged between (say) 18 and 25, and are single. It doesn't get much more targetted than that

I set up a few promotions for affiliate products, just to try it out, and I can't see myself using it much more. Click prices are very high for most any group of users I could find (This may be artificially inflated right now due to the hype surrounding it. Will have to check back in a few months to see if it has settled down), resulting in a low, or negative return.
For an offline business, I'm sure it could work great. Not so much for online stuff, from what I can see.
Anyone had any success with it?

I have got someone to contact our PPC agency about this. It'll let you know if I hear anything good/bad/interesting back from them.
