Battle Of The Site Builders

There are many programs and applications that can build websites for you. Over the next few days/weeks I'm going to test out some Site Builders but I need your help to set some parameters for the test.

My ideas;

  1. 1. Test should take 25 pre-written articles and output them to a site.
  2. 2. Site created should have easy navigation.
  3. 3. Site should have monetisation - let's go for Adsense as it's easy and everyone understands what Adsense is.
  4. 4. Site should be easily updatable.

What other parameters would you guys like to include in the tests. In addition, which Site Building Programs would you like to see tested? Please comment to let me know what you want to see, thanks.

Search engine friendly urls would be a plus, i.e. /some-keyword-here.html instead of /page.php?id=12

Also, ease of styling (how hard it was to change the look of the created site through a common template, etc) would be something I'd be interested in hearing about.

    Some more factors to consider:

How customisable is the output and how much of it is hard-coded?

Whether content can be added automatically i.e. RSS feeds, scheduled adding of articles, etc.

    What possible monetisation streams/plugins available?

    Ease of use.

I think the design is important. How easy is it to change? CSS styled or at least centrally controlled?

Also, the ability to easily integrate affiliate links and banners is almost a must anymore. Hardly want to count on just adsense.

All great ideas - thanks guys. Anyone got any input on which Site Builders they would like to see tested. If I don't already own them, I'll approach the creator and try to get a free testing copy.

Here's a few suggestions that don't include any auto-blogging systems, but not sure whether they fit entirely into the entry criteria:

    - Niche Portal Builder
    - 19 Pages
    - Wheatz Article Site Builder
    - Article Miner (not on sale any more)
    - Niche Creator

Will, I have most of those :)
Those I don't have, I'll try to get. Cheers.

Will, I'm positive that I had Article Miner at one time, but I cannot seem to find it now. Count that one out I guess. I managed to get my hands on a copy of Wheatz Site Builder (thank you to Dave at Wheatz).

I'll also add both WpSmart and Smarticle into the mix. Does anyone have any more Site Builders that they would like to see tested?

I also now have "PLR Site Builder" - a big thank you to Eric at PLRSiteBuilder.com
