Incremental Pricing at 1month.co.uk
OK, so I liked my own idea of making a website that sells products at different prices on different days so much that I set about making it reality. For those who don't know what the heck I am talking about, here's a recap.
So, I'd like to introduce www.1month.co.uk
This layout took me a couple of hours to complete. It looks fairly decent and a bit "web2". I like "web2" almost as much as I like cake.
The idea is that each month I showcase a product, the price rises day by day, and at the end of the month, the product is retired (in other words reverts to it's normal price). Then a new product takes it's place for the following month.
Here's some of the blurb I came up with;
Each month, 1month.co.uk will showcase a different product or service. The price will be incremental, so the earlier that you purchase, the cheaper the price will be! In other words, "you SNOOZE, you LOSE".
Will 1month.co.uk be a success?
What do you think of the idea of offering incremental pricing? Will it work or is it doomed to failure? Please let me know your thoughts.
If you have any views on the layout of the site I would appreciate any comments you have. Bring it on.
Oh, and why not sign up - the mailing list is now open, and will only be used towards the end of each month in order to let you know the product that is upcoming.

Can I just send you $12 and you send me the product on the 1st every month?

It seems to be a bit similar to the idea of dealdotcom, which has become extremely popular recently. That has become particularly popular though because of the great affiliate scheme it has, not sure if people would bother promoting something for a cut of a dollar on the 1st.
That being said though i still think with the right marketing it could work.

Yes, the concept needs a bit of honing, but I know what I want to do => bring the best value that I can to consumers.
I might put back the launch date to December 1st in order to create some buzz. Most people like the idea, but I'm finding it hard to get people to post about it.

Comments re: the site, I'd put the email capture form in the main content area, I scrolled down straight away to find it (hiding it completely), and would probably have left without giving my email address if it was any other site…
