Battle Shop !
One of my online buddies, Carine has made up a new site over at Battle Shop where osCommerce stores can be added and then fight it out in a "hot or not" style fight.
Seems like a lot of fun. The main site at ning.com allows you to build these type of sites quite quickly and easily - it looks like very good and unique site.
Anyway, back to Carine' Battle Shop - the idea of 2 shops fighting it out is quite novel - I like it. Of course, it only goes on looks, and not the important stuff underneath like graceful code, accessibility and so on, but all the same it can be a useful tool to see which shop-look that people like the best.
Of course, what it does need is loads more shops all added - to get a good representation of some of the lovely (and not-so-lovely) shops…
Take a look: Battle Shop

I like it. Thats a really neat idea. Could be a good showcase of some of the best osc designs (you adding any of yours G?). Will be interesting to see what sort of shop style appeals to most people.

Hi burt,
Thank you for the posting.
I'm thinking of adding some more indepth review options, for anyone willing to take the time to review.
But as first impressions count, I'm afraid looks will always win over functionality, usability, accessibility, product range …
For the moment, I'm pretty content with being the biggest looser, at least I get top position in one list
and maybe who knows, more visitors to the shop too

you can now vote anonymously, so vote for keukenlust, or not …
to add a shop, you'll need a ning account, for which registration is a breeze.

Ok, I added one of mine (hope Carine does not mind it is a commercial osC shop)…
We'll see how it does!

no, I don't mind, the more shops, the better … as long it are all genuine shop images, not some kind of different intro pages all leading to the same shop, that would be cheating.

Looks like alot of fun - not sure I have got the bottle to enter my online store! - Never was a good loser and, given my present design and the standard of competition I am not too confident. - Maybe with a little persuasion….
Just as an aside, how about an "AIS adsense battle site"? - Wouldnt be income related but could be fun from a design pov?
